TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(He's been tipping since 2001)

"It only took me a quarter of a century to hit the line but when I got there it was like Kingstown Town winning his first Cox Plate."

Dave R (aka Lionel Williamson)

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Late forward pass in Titans game cost me $1,000 but I’m not bitter or anything !  Happy to win something - it’s been a while."

(And responding to my question as to whether the day before money transfer had reached his bank account)

"Not only through but spent !"

Peter E

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(After leading through Rounds 18 and 19 in a COVID reduced 20 round competition and then running 4th)

"I was saying after round 19 I don't think I can lose all the scratch games ... very, very disappointed but thanks so much Fatcat, you run an awesome comp."

Mark Y

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Paid (the $80 entry fee) - counting down the days ... "

Rob B

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thanx for a making a great tipping comp.  ‘til next year."

Michael B

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thanks Fatcat, another great competition - second only to 2005 !!"

David D

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thanks for running the comp again Peter.  It was fun and always gives me someone to cheer for in every match."

Greg N

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thanks for another great year which has seen me regain - in my eyes at least - my tipping dignity with a fast finishing 15th !!"

Tony C

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"It is great you are remembering my old boss Jeremy Gilling who was one of the most passionate sports fans I've known.  With the nickname ‘Boy Wonder’, he was a demon in office cricket, an honest trier in our lunch time touch footie team (usually sent off for dissent) and his compassion for the underdog was usually reflected in his sporting tips.  The Gilling Legacy is an apt one."

Greg N

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"You have the best tipping comp around, far more interesting than anything else."

Chris R

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(After winning the tipping comp at his 19th attemp)

"Thanks for all your work and, as I always say, it’s the best $80 I spend each year."

John P

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(After being told their prizemoney was already paid and next year would be their 20th year of participation in Fatcat's 'A Competition With A Differnce')

"Oh wow, on both accounts.   Thank you - we’ll be back next year."

The Malones

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(Our results are declared after 80 minutes.  Selections in a drawn game receive a point each so not sure how you "lose that bet" when they go to golden point as nothing changes ??)

"For f*#k sake ... bloody Newcastle and Dragons are in extra time so I f*#king lose that bet as well !!!!  Tell Fatcat this tipping comp is f*#ked."

an irate, feisty and somewhat confused Shea M

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(After boldly and erroneously challenging his Rd 24 score)

"Although it means nothing in reality I aspire to end up as high as possible in this most prestigious comp.  I will aim to be as good as our current leader next year."

Terry R

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thanks Fatcat.  Great competition to be a part of."

Shaun F

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Well done Peter and congratulations to all winners.  Go the Storm !"

Barry S

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thanks again Peter.  Always a great comp."

Phil T

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Another immaculately run footy comp.  Till next year, all the best and again thanx.  Don't lose my bank details, you will need them next year :)"

John B

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(After all his 10 selections won in the last round sweeping him from 6th place to a clear victory)

"Cheers thanks mate !  Great comp, look forward to next year.  I knew I had a good round, but no idea I was winning until this email !!"

Chris R

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thanks mate for another enlightening year where I learnt that I am not as smart as my 6 year old and got my arse kicked !  See you next year."

Tony C

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thank you for another outstanding year of running this."

Alan K

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(Our 2017 winner's somewhat prescient observation before the last round when he was in 5th place and 5 points off the lead)

"I take this opportunity to thank you for enabling myself, my wife and grandson to participate in your competition.  Please convey best of luck to all the other people at the top and let them know I think I can still win it !"

Barry S

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Thank you once again for another great year."

The Malones

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(After jumping up into a 3-way tie for 2nd place and collecting $833.34 on the back of hot favourites St.George losing their final game and, as a result, missing out on the finals series, the fair weather Dragons supporter who backed them preseason at 150/1 to win the premiership had the gall to say of others)

"I'm still not break-even yet.  I can't believe those guys picked St.George."

Danny D

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

(You make one mistake (!?) and the narks come out of the woodwork)

"Hey Mr Cat, I think you have next week's draw incorrect - the Broncos are playing St George."

the late Clive G

TIPPING COMP TESTIMONIALS

"Just when I thought I was going alright ... thanks for another 'enjoyable' season.  Cheers mate and see you soon."

Sportsfans,

My thanks to the many who continue to back up year after year and a warm welcome to our newcomers - Niki Loe, Keith Melton, Matt Naylor, Grant Scott and Jake Wicks.  Hopefully by season's end it will have dawned on them that banging their head against the brick wall of tipping success each weekend, and paying for the privilege, is not the smartest thing they'll ever do.  However, it does become addictive ...

A lengthy note to start the season but it should only take a minute or two of your time to read through - future reminders will be much briefer.

Mainly for the first timers, we'll start with some general info:

And now for everyone, some very important information:

  1. the tips are sent to the database.  If there is a problem at this point, an onscreen error message will be displayed warning the tips were not received and to log in again;
  2. if accepted, an onscreen confirmation will be displayed with your name, selections and time of lodgement and, should your device allow, a short audio clip from the HAL 9000; and
  3. I'm sent a copy of your onscreen confirmation;

If you're the forgetful type, it may be wise to lodge your selections when you receive the weekly email reminder - they can always be updated before the online cut-off.

Your task this round is to select 6 scratch and 4 handicap winners from the following 6 games (home team first):

Bye - Gold Coast

The online cut-off is 8.00pm Thursday (scheduled kick-off for Roosters vs Brisbane).  Tipsters who miss this first deadline have until 6.00pm Friday (Wests Tigers vs Newcastle) to email me their late picks but they are penalised 1 selection and are only allowed to submit 9 (5 scratch and 4 handicap) chosen from the remaining, unplayed games.  It is important to understand all weekly cut-off times are fixed and independent from the time any referenced games actually start.

After accessing the login page, type in your username and password to open the tipping page showing this round's games and starts under your name.  When you have made the required number of selections, the submit button becomes available.  Press the submit button - it's the most critical part of lodging your selections - and your tips are on their way to the ESG&EC database.  A confirmation of your selections will then be displayed on-screen.

Go to Log In page

In the unlikely event of a site malfunction, tipsters can lodge selections by email but they still must be received by me before the respective cut-off time.

Lodge selections by email

Regards,
Fatcat.
